If you like a particular gun and want to keep using it until better gear drops, then use the “Level Up” option. After modding one slot, the other slot becomes locked, preventing it from being changed. If you have two mod slots, then a choice for adding it to slot 1 or 2 will be provided. Select an item for crafting, go to “Mod Gear”, choose a mod and simply add it to your gear. If the icon is present, then that mod has been unlocked and can be used for crafting. You can see which mods you’ve unlocked by looking for a little dice-like icon next to a weapon or armor piece in your inventory. Once you’ve dismantled an item and obtained its mod, that mod will be available for adding on to anything else whenever you’d like. Mods are obtained by dismantling gear and weapons. Tier 3 mods are obtained from Legendary gear and start appearing as you approach the endgame. Tier 2 mods start to slowly roll in as you make your way through the early game, and provide bonuses like added armor (which can stack up to three times) when killing burning enemies. Mods are broken up into three tiers based on their effectiveness – Tier 1 mods are fairly common and include benefits like reduced cooldown on abilities or an extra charge for an ability. Mods will become some of your best friends in Outriders – they confer powerful benefits and effects along with augmenting your abilities. Raising a Rare item to Epic tier unlocks another mod slot along with overall increased attributes. Raising the rarity is a good way to gain an instant power boost in the early game since it increases an item’s stats and adds a mod slot when going from Unusual to Rare. Since Titanium isn’t as common, you should be absolutely certain before raising a Rare item to Epic. Though you can raise an Unusual item to Rare using Iron and Leather, raising a Rare item to Epic requires Titanium. Epic items can not be upgraded to Legendary. The first step is improving rarity, which essentially takes an Unusual item up to Rare, or a Rare item up to Epic. Leather is obtained by killing beasts and dismantling armor. Anomaly Shards are straight up obtained from dismantling weapons and fall into several different types of categories. Iron and Titanium can be obtained from dismantling weapons, though you’ll find the former by mining ore veins randomly encountered in maps and the latter by dismantling Epic and Legendary weapons (or even as drops from tough foes). There are four main resources in Outriders – Scrap, Leather, Iron, Titanium and Anomaly Shards. Let’s take a look at everything you need to know. It can be slightly overwhelming at first but crafting is actually fairly straightforward once you get the hang of it.
