Further augmenting the troops are enormous terracotta soldiers that are usually inert statues in Grand Cathay's cities. This is to protect its main offensive power: heavy artillery consisting of rifles, cannons, and flying machines also armed with rifles and cannons. The infantry of Grand Cathay consists of heavily armored, mostly spear or halberd wielding troops. This is shown in the trailer which starts in peacetime, then transitions to a battle. The lands of Grand Cathay are lush and pristine, covering even more territory than the Empire, and its troops are well organized and powerful. Mentioned for years in Warhammer lore, this is the first time Grand Cathay appears as a fully realized fighting force.
In this case, the forces of Chaos are Tzeentch's, but the main showcase is of Grand Cathay. Just like the earlier Total War: Warhammer 3 trailer that shows off Kislev and Khorne, the new trailer shows a mortal nation battling the forces of Chaos.
